sponsorship
Ugandans
with close relatives who are either citizens or parmanent residents
of Canada can gain immigration to Canada under the Family Sponsorship
Class visa programme. The sponsors are required to agree to support
their family member and along with any dependents they may have
with them.
Relatives
who qualify for sponsorship under this scheme include brothers,
sisters, nephews, nieces, or grandchildren who are orphans, under
the age of 18 and unmarried, dependent children, a spouse, and
parents. All the above categories can attain permanent residence
status in canada on the basis of their relatives if they are willing
to sponsor them.
