Every
year several thousand Ugandans travel to Western countries for
short visits whose reasons include visiting family and friends,
holidays, business trips, Health reasons, and attending conferences.
In such cases, the visa applicant will be granted a temporary
nonimmigrant "visitors" visa which typically expires
after a six months period.
However,
before you apply for this visa, there are some things you need
to know first. Most countries assume that every applicant for
a nonimmigrant visa is an intending immigrant. The burden is therefore
on you to prove that you intend to leave the country at the end
of your visit.
In
order to do this, someone should show that the purpose of your
trip is for the stated reasons ie. Business, Pleasure or Medical
reasons which means you should have valid documentation to back
up your claims.
Another
important issue that you need to unequivocally prove is that you
have enough funds to cover the duration of your trip. If you don't
have sufficient funds, you are expected to provide evidence that
another interested party will provide the financial cover. People
carrying the Visitor's visa will not be expected to solicit or
accept employment during their visit.
