Students
who intend to go abroad for full or part-time study need to acquire
a students visa. In order to qualify for a students visa, the
applicant should first enroll for a registered course in the destination
country.
An
applicant for a student's visa is expected to have sufficient
proof that he / she has been accepted in a registered Academic
Institution. He should therefore carry an admission letter from
the College or University and in some cases, the Institution may
send the applicant some forms that should be filled by him and
submitted to the embassy.
The
applicant is also expected to have fully paid up tuition fees(
for at least one academic in some cases) and should carry relevant
documents to prove this. This may include receipts from the admitting
institution.
A
vital prerequisite for people applying for students visas is the
ability to prove that you have the financial ability to sustain
your stay without recourse to public funds. You should have evidence
to show that you have enough money to cover your education and
living expenses in the country for a duration of up to one academic
year. For those whom another party is catering for your financial
expenses, you are expected to clearly state your relationship
with that person as well as giving adequate documents about the
person's income and financial stand.
